I'm looking at a King Kutter field mower, 5 or 6 foot model. Any one had any experience with this? I'm looking for something that will last a while but won't cost an arm and a leg. This will be used pretty much for light duty. Does anyone know of a bush hog dealer in S. E. Wisc. and how are their light duty models as far as reliability?

My nephew has a 5' King Kutter bush hog that he's had for years. My brother has borrowed it and liked it well enough that he bought a new one for himself about a month ago. It probably won't last as long as a more expensive one, but it should hold up fine unless you're going to be putting hundreds of hours on it per year. I'm still hoping to find a decent used bush hog for a couple hundred dollars, but if I can't then I'll be buying a new King Kutter for myself (my brother lives $300 miles away, or I'd borrow his!). Quality Farm and Fleet has them for $500. They are available in either yellow or blue, depending on where you buy them. There are 2 things I want to point out though. 1) If you're going to store it outside, add an extra coat of paint. 2) The bracket where the top 3pt arm attaches does not pivot and this will be a problem in unlevel terrain. My brother modified his so it would pivot. He has the L-60-40-P-Y.
