Great forum....I've been sitting on the side lines for awhile....thought I'd jump in.

I've been eyeing a 2 bottom plow at Tractor Supply, and wondering if it is any good.

I've got a Ford 2000, and have been doing all of my work with a 3-pt disc-harrow. I'm planting food plots for deer & turkey, but also my kids are having a lot of fun finding arrowheads. Plus the Johnson grass is beginning to be a real pest.

Q1) Does anyone have experience with the Tractor Supply 2-bottom plow ?

Q2) Will plowing the Johnson Grass tubers under do any good? I've tried round-up with limited success.

Q3) Have you ever heard the squeal of an 8 year old when they find their first perfect arrowhead?

Plowing Johnson grass will just make it worse!
If doesn't tolerate grazing very well! If you should attempt to graze it be sure to remove livestock before the first frost! You can safely put them back on after the grass is dead

I do use TSC a lot, but I've never used one of their plows. I would think a used two bottom plow would not be that hard to locate in most areas. Around $ 200 or maybe less?

We have torpedo grass here, it is badder than johnson grass! plowing, disking or roto tilling just replants it, I have used round up on it and got a good kill, use 6 qts per 100 gallons of water (this is the good stuff the 41% not the crud you buy at wally world) and use a good wetting agent with it and even some liquid N in the mixture will help. I use 46% Urea the N goes straight to the roots and carries the round up with it. Or you can use a good liquid fertlizer.
