Great article! I'm not old enough to have seen that equipment used for something other than shows, but it sure would have been great to have been around to see it new. The closest I came to that era, was putting up a field of wheat with an AC pull behind combine with a AC WD. I was about 15 then. And like the guys in the article, I would like to do that again some day...

The RED: Very nice. I am glad I did it for real back in the 40's. Our seperator and MD was used on as many as 14 farms in one season during WW2. I am glad they mentioned the great food the women cooked. Yup, work up a sweat and then have lots of chaf blow in your face and down your neck. What fun. The sound of the seperator was one of the best things to remember. Thanks Red. harvey

I was surprised that they didn't include two other digital pictures that are in the hard copy article. The first picture is a Co-op E3 pulling a 1945 binder. The second picture is a gent adjusting his engine on a 1929 IH model M haypress. Sorry I don't have a scanner or I would have posted the pictures.
