Can this mower be converted to 3 Point?

I have come across a Howard Price Turf Equipment 6 foot mower. It was used by Parks and Rec of a town around here. It uses PTO to run but looks like it is a pull behind. There is a 1" square shaft about 8" long coming off of the mower. The model number is CD72D.

Do you think it could be converted to a 3 point system? It has two large rollers in back and two small fixed rollers in front. It has two swing arms to the front and are curved to one side. As they are the distance between them is 24". They also go through an adjustabel bracket much like the rear wheel of a John Deere Brush Hog.

George that mower should be a 3 point type. It sounds like somebody took the A-frame off of it for some reason.

If it is a pull behind it should have retractable 13" or so wheels for transporting the mower around.

If you want to put it back to a 3 point model just take the A-frame hookup off of a bushhog and attach it to this mower.

In other words fix the A-frame so that when you let the lift completely down the mower is fully resting on the ground and the lift arms will only guide it along the ground.

BE SURE you have a slotted type top link so that the 3rd arm is letting the mower fully float and the 3rd arm does'nt have any pressure on it at all til you lift the mower for transport.

No,it wasn't actually made for 3 pt. It seems to be made to be pulled by one of those 4 wheel drive units you may see at the parks.

It does seem like if I put an A frame on it it should work though, as long as you say the front bars can float.

Yessir you're right. It could have been a pull behind or a push model either. I just thought it maybe a 3 point by it not having transport wheels on it.

I'll go look at the new styles and get back to you but what you want to do is'nt that hard if you can find an A frame and you may have to build a new PTO shaft.

On these newer model mowers we have here you set it to be whatever style you want by adding or taking off the A frame.
