Posted before but got no reply. I have a pile of parts that is supposed to be a scicle bar mower for my JD"L". Anybody have an idea how I can figure out how to assemble it? Any help would be great!

I have a JD #9 mower that I use with a Ford tractor. Parts for my mower are still "available" from the dealer, but some small parts are tough to get because they have a 25 minimum order quantity when you only need 1. My mower has an id tag still on it with a serial number, etc. I also still have some original JD paint and lettering that says John Deere No 9. Don't know anything about the JD 7. Good luck.

If it is for a model L it should be a model 7 mower. You can probably get a manual from JD publications. I have 2 of these mowers but haven't called JD yet to check on manual.

Do you have any idea what make and model the cutter is? See if there is an iformation plate riveted anywhere to the frame of the unit. Model? SN? or something.... To hard to help without knowing exactly what you have.

Yea, I'm a Ford mower person, so didn't reply before. In your case, a picture truly would be worth a 1000 words. You'd need to give the Deere guys a model number to help you, and even then, if you get a manual, or search the web for some pictures, you would be miles ahead of trying to get a written explination. Without knowing the state of your 'pile', it's real hard for people to give you a meaningful reply to your question. Do you even have part 'B' to inerst between part 'A' & 'C', etc.?

Thanks to everyone for the replies. The pile is on a pallet and is supposed to be complete. I'll try to get some numbers off it. Thanks again!
