I am looking for a service manual for the above baler and cannot even find Hesston anyplace on the web. Does anyone have any info about where such a service manual is available.?

The problem is the upper drive roller does not move and I think the bearings need replacement. Question is, how to best to remove and replace these bearings?

Thanks, Walt

When I worked for INDOT, we had a Hesston tractor that was abused. . I mean used for mowing highways. It was my favorite of all of our tractors. We had Ford, IH, and Massey. Had to split the Hesston once, someone broke the PTO shaft back in the middle of the tractor.

Walt, I have a Hesston 5545, these balers are relatively simple, it seems that you may have sheared a key or rounded a chain sprocket, In the process of cleaning up my baler for winter storage this year I discovered a couple of bearings that would definitely be giving me trouble next season, Look up the AGCO dealer nearest you and they should be able to help you, these are decent balers for the money and I have found parts to be relatively cheap. The company making the Hesston brand is now known as "Hay & Forage indutries" They are located in Hesston Ks. (316) 327-6300 sorry I dont know an 800 # for them. They are now owned by AGCO so I would think your nearest AGCO dealer could also help you obtain a manual.
