Help -- busted the disc!

I had turned the paddock and disked it with a 10' pull-type John Deere disc of unknown age. On the last pass, I swung a little too wide and clipped a fence post with one of the rear sets of discs. Bent the shaft and broke the bearing housing. Will these parts be hard to replace? Are there any places to find implement salvage yards in the greater Washington DC area? Thanks!

You should be able to get the axle made at a machine shop. If you have a press you could probably straighten it yourself. I have welded bearing housings. I'm not sure what your looks like. The machine shop can probably do the welding if it can be done. Good luck.

If it has part numbers on it that start with KK, it's probably a KB or KB-A drag disk. If so, these guys can help:
Groffdale Machine Shop
194 South Groffdale Road
Leola, PA 17540

This is an Amish shop that builds new drag disks that follow the JD design, and rebuild old KBA drag disks.
