Hi,
I've seen several previous posts inquiring about
parts for the 230, and Jeremy Sweeten mentioned one in his
article. Would any present or past owners care to
comment on this baler; its strong and weak points;
and things to watch out for in a used one?
Thanks,
MPW

I have a 230 baler for sale. They are hard to keep in time. The bales are tight and the notters worked flawlessly. I do have an operators manual for one that is for sale also along with a 230 thrower manual.

Case bale throwers scare me. I saw one once on a junk baler at an auction. Don't like the idea of that roller chain with bale grabs on it coming apart and flying towards me . . . .

Hi Mike. My dad and I each have a case 200 baler. Mine has the tosser on it. The absolute worst parts about our balers is that they are low capacity. The feeding arm only covers a small area and you need to make small windrows and pick them up right under the feeding arm. If you get a big windrow or wander all over the pickup it will plug up. They each tie real well and make a nice square bale. But, since I didn't want to take all day baling hay, I went and bought a JD 336 with a kicker. That thing eats hay like it's starving. Of course JD and NH balers cost alot more to buy than Case and IH balers. Even Massey don't bring that much unless they are newer ones. It depends on how much hay you are going to make. You can pick up a JD 24T in fair shape around here for $300-$600 depending on time of year. The 24T is a pretty good old baler.

If its anything like the 210 and 220 stay away from it. Go with a New Holland.
