I am looking to build a hayrack on an old running gear I have. I just tore down a corn crib and salvaged all the 2x6 lumber. Does anyone have any plans or a source for them on how to construct a GOOD hayrack?

With a supply of good 2x6's you have everything you need to build a good rack. Use 3 2x6 spiked together for each sill I recommend 16' length(they run the length of the rack). Lay those two sills, placed on edge - for greater strength, in the wagon's bolsters and then place 8' 2x6's cross ways with about a 1" crack between each board. These form the bed of the rack and the crack makes for better footing than solid flooring. Next run a 2x6 on top of the cross boards at each end and bolt to each cross board. The sills run the length of the rack and tie the ends of the cross boards together for strength and the raised board provides footing and tilts the bale ends up just a little to stabilize the load. You can make a back(or front) also out of 2x6's but metal "L" brackets work easier. Weather proof the whole thing but remember paint can be slick - add fine sand to wet paint to improve traction. Sorry this is so long, E mail with questions or feel free to call me (712)527-9527. Good luck and let us know what you do. Dick Davis

Did you try the search option here? I think this was discussed here a couple months ago.
