Any experiance with 3pt. dirt scoop?

I am considering getting a dirt scoop for the rear of a Ferguson TO-30. I would use it for light leveling work and moving around dirt piles. The rear tires of the tractor are fluid filled, so I assume there is enough weight in the back to provide traction. Has anyone had any experiance with these scoops, and did they work up to their expections??
Dave

My 30" Kingcutter Dirtpan (above) has provided many hours of dirt haulin' fun. Even though it only holds 9 cubic feet of soil in the scoop (about 2 wheelbarrows at a time) the thousand pounds or so for each pass saves a lot on the operator, 'specially when haulin' any distance. Of the seven implements I have for 'Henry' the scoop is by far the most enjoyable to use. HTH

Where would one look to get more info on the Kingcutter Dirtpan? I have a soil scoop and love it--other than shoveling out material. Never thought of turning it around.

Thanks.

Mike

I use a 30 inch one on a 25 hp tractor for ditching, hauling dirt ect. works fine for me and a lot cheaper than a front end loader( I still want one LOL)A hyd top link would make it a lot more useful and it does work as well forward as reverse

I am using one on the back of a Ford 860. It works good for moving dirt & gravel. i have a Hydraulic top link that makes angle adjustment a breeze and improves the dig angle. Faceing forward it does a great job of diging drainage ditches. Faster than an front end loader and more easily controled for ditching.

Dick, What is the length, stroke and bore of the cylinder you use as hydraulic top link. Been thinking of doing this same thing with my Ford bucket. Thanks

Borrowed one to use on my Farmall 200 - 2 point converted to 3 point hitch. I was hauling gravel out of a pit, worked fairly well, until I got the scoop too far below the level of the tractor, then the 3 point hitch arrangement tended to buckle, and the bucket would tip forward. Also had a little trouble loading when backing into a bank of dirt. As long as you're working pretty much on the level, they work OK. Beats shoveling, but not as good as a front end loader. I am considering buying one in the future.

I just bought one to move dirt & rocks on our land. So far it has worked fine for me. Better than doing it by hand.

I have a scoop for the rear (3pt) of my Farmall Super A. It works pretty well in either direction.

I have a Ford brand rear scoop. It works pretty good. Since I don't have a front loader I use it sometimes to move some dirt or gravel. Not as good as a loader, but it gets me by.

I had never even considered turning it forwards. That would take the kinks out of the neck. My "honey do" list is long and impressive, but not enough so that I want to install a front end loader and deal with the hassels of that.
Thanks for the feed back,
Dave
