This puppy is pretty old but been takin good care of.....I noticed last time I put gear oil in it it leaked out on the stump jumper...So with further examination I found a piece of wire rapped above the stump jumper which leads me to believe that it took out the lower bearing. I remembere reading a post of how to get the stump jumper off with somewhat of a headace. Can somebody explain an easy way to get it off or maybe some ideas or experiences you've had trying to get them off. Also are the bearings easilly found. this thing is in too good of shape to just junk Thanks in advance

First: get the nut off, soak the shaft with a good pen oil and leave the blades on for weight, Then through the hole that you use to take the blade bolts off place a pipe, about 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 on the solid bar that the blades are bolted to and hit like heck with a sledge, turning and hitting both sides.

Its not easy getting the stump jumper off I just got done with a 160 bush hog its 12 ft wide I had to do 3 gear boxes on one of them I put a hydralic ram under one side of the stump jumper and a pry bar on the other and took a large bolt to hit the center of the shaft coming out of the gear box being careful not to hurt the threads. I cut the nuts off with a torch. They were left hand threads but I dont know about yours seals are available from a bush hog dealer so are the bearings which are tapered They sell you 2seals for the bottom theyare hard to get started in the gear box if you look at them the wrong way they will bend. The other stumpjumpers were alot harder to get off I used a puller on them welding 2 nuts to the jumper to screw the bolts from the puller I heated the shaft and melted some crayons into shaft then hit on the threaded screwof the puller and it finnally came off BE Paitent and good luck

If you could get the mower deck turned over it would be easier to work on and safer than getting under there. I'd suggest some heat to loosen it off the out-put shaft.
