I'm sure many of us on the board are wondering about your neighbor who lost both hands in the corn-puller accident.

Yeah, I was wondering myself how he is doing.

Hello, No computer at home yet. So I get on at work. First, thanks to everyone who supported Grant with gifts and letters. He was moved by the very thought of strangers being so kind to him.
As for his condition; He was admitted to a local hospital on 11-19-00 with what turned out to be a blood clot in the lung. Probably a complication from the accident. He was in over Thanksgiving and I'm pretty sure he got back home on Saturday or Sunday(yesterday). Had they not taken him when they did, He might have been in deep trouble again.
Friends and neighbors have been doing the milking and preparing meals. There are efforts underway to raise funds and get some sort of schedule set up to streamline the help. He lost his wife to cancer last summer, so he really does need alot of help at home. I know he would like to read some letters if anyone has a few minutes and could drop a line Grant Weston, Bush Hollow Road, Julian,PA.16844 I could write volumes but like I said I'm at work and kinda have to snitch time on the board. Thanks for all the prayers, I'm a beleiver. There was a sign in front of the church one day that read: If you're swept off your feet, get down on your knees. Good advise indeed.

Duane, thanks for the update on Mr. Weston. It is heart warming to hear about all of his good neighbor's pitching in and helping him get his work done. This is the way of the family-farmers. Too often, we only get to show our concern and sympathy at the funeral home when it is really too late. Hope he continues to improve each day.
