I just bought a Harry Ferguson front end loader intending to install it on my 8N. It's marked Model L UO20 and is a tubular frame manual trip design. Can anybody give me any info on this loader or direct me to a source for a manual? Also how about a source for hooking up to the tractor internal hydraulic pump or installing a supplementary pump?

This sounds like the one we had quite a while ago on our 8N.I can't remember much except that it took hydraulic oil from the tap at the bottom of the pump bottom plate. This is on the right front corner and goes in at about 45 degrees. A street elbow went in there and a pipe came up the corner of the hydraulic oil case with a valve at the top and a hose connection to the loader cylinders. The oil came back to the sump into an adapted plate for the hydraulic lift lever on the other side, left, of the case. It was the first loader we ever had, not much by today's standards, but a heck of a lot better than a dung fork when you've got about 20 loads for the spreader. I take the 8N Newsletter but couldn't seem to find anythig about the Ferguson loaders. If you're anywhere near, Brunswick, Maine, I might have a few of the old pieces still around. I hardly ever throw anything away, but we've had two loaders since that one.

I don't know if I have a model L or not but my Ferguson loader mounts to the front axle with lift rods running to the back of the tractor. Mine has hydraulic cylinders that lift on the pull stroke. I've seen a loader in a picture that used the rocker shaft (top part of tractor hydraulic lift) to actuate the lift rods.
