This summer I purchased an IH 3-bottom plow. Does anybody have any information on this type of plow? I plowed with this plow and an Farmall 350 this fall. It did a good job and handled the plow really well.

Dad had a 3-16 on his 350. Worked pretty good, but he found that the pull-type pulled easier. Moounted on may not have been adjusted quite right. We pulled it in everything from sand to clay with few problems. Had one place we could putt it in high side of 4th. Had to knock it down to 2 bott. one time for some sticky ground. Other that that it was ok. The front end was quite light on the tractor with9ut weights though. Made it a little skitterish on the road.

If there is a rectangular beam running from the front bottom to the rear its a #311. If it does not have this box type frame then it is a 309. In east Tn it took a 560 to pull the 311 with 16" bottoms. All that we sold were trip beam type also. Good luck

You must have light soil. In our area, we pulled 2x14 little genius plow behind a 300. It was all the 300 could do to handle it, not mention when we had to use the w4. On a good day, it was 2nd gear, most days 1st gear.
