Does anyone know anything about the company? I think I read somewhere that they made wrenches and other tools. What all did they manufacture? A neighbor was telling me about a BlackHawk planter he bought new,(don't remember what year)that he used to have, he said it was junk.He only used it two seasons. He still has the owners manual for it. He traded it for a 2-Row AC which I bought from him.
Maybe BlackHawk was in Waterloo,IA? I checked the map and Waterloo is in Blackhawk county.

I have a Blackhawk hand-turned corn sheller, made by A. H. Patch. Patent dates Nov. 28,1886 and july 3, 1889. Anyone familiar with A.H. Patch ? Was tthe corn seller sold by the same blackhawk company that made corn pickers, etc. ?

There were two companys that sold Black Hawk brand machinery, He is right about the company in Wisconsin But it goes back to the early fourties. The other company that was Blackhawk that made the planter was in Belleview Ohio and was later accuired by Cockshutt and a lot of the machinery was then sold under the Cocksuutt Name. The planter was one of the two best planters ever built and are very much in demand by collectors.

I think I heard that a CO-OP manure spreader was also made in Belleview,Ohio. There's a picture of one on the implement photo page.

We had a Black Hawk corn picker back in the mid '70s. Worked very well for our 300 acres.

"Blackhawk" is or was well known in this area for snowplows for Jeeps, trucks and tractors - sold to Ford for the hundred series. They were made by the Arps Corporation, in New Holstein, WI back in the 50's - 70's. Their snowplows and blackblades for tractors were well built and considered to be top grade.
