3 point concrete mixer

I am in the market for a concrete mixer to be used on the 3 point of my 641D Ford. Anyone have experience using one of these? It would seem handy to be able to pour the mud where it will go rather than wrestling a wheelbarrow full from a stationary mixer. Any ideas of how much one would be worth and what to look for in a used unit?

Hi, I bought a new "Wind Mill" brand PTO mixer several years ago. It works really well, and seems to mix faster, and better than the other mixers i've used over the years. I'm asumeing it's because of the design of the paddles. Robert

I have one that I got used (VERY used) for $200. I put about another $100 into it plus several hours of modifying so it would fit my Ford 850. It works great now. It was made by Universal Pulley Co of Wichita, KS. As near as I can tell, the company no longer exists. The mixer came off a 2N and I had to change out the pto connection to the larger 1-3/8" diameter. The mixing bucket is larger than the modern 3pt mixers I've seen. I can mix up 3, sometimes 4 bags of concrete mix at a time. I runs off a car tire mounted to the base of the drum. The tire spins on a spindle bolted to the back of the tractor. The spindle is powered by the pto shaft. I've seen and hear of 2 or 3 other mixers like mine, but they don't seem too plentiful.

I bought one 7 years ago from Central Tractor.
I think it came from Italy. Works great, easy
to mount on tractor, goes where the tractor can
fit, and is quick to use. I paid about $550.00.
Came with the mounting hitch pins and dump cyl.
which goes in third link position and the PTO
shaft. Basically it's a PTO powered chain driven
drum just like any mixer. You don't see too many
around at auctions or used so new was the way
I went. I found a lower tractor is easier for
filling but can reduce the tip for dumping out
the full load. I love it and use it every year
for some type of project. Another benefit is it
is hard to borrow unless they have a tractor.
