I hope it's good cause I bought it. It is a 3-blade Woods with a large pto driven pulley (no gear box). Unit appears to be in good shape. I didn't write down model number, but I thought RD490 (RD for rear discharge). Maybe it is a 590 for 59-in. wide. Paid $450 and believe it will work as is, but I can buy blades and belt (cost???). Anybody got one of these? Any Advice? Appreciate all help. Mike-Iowa

Yeap,I have on to.5 ft.Had to replace a belt and a bearing. No big deal.It cuts great.I also have a gear box drive 4ft.If I let the clutch out to fast the gear box slams. With the belt drive that doesn.t happen. You may think about using an over run clutch on the pto (may have to cut the drive shaft to fit right. The over run clutch will keep you from doing some strange things. Like running over your fence or hitting a hard to move tree.

I've had a Woods RM600 (I think that;s the #) for about four years. Its six feet across with three blades and side discharge. Works great. I cut about 15 AC of "Yard" about twice/month in season. In NC that's a long time. The only problems I've had is I must replace the blades about once per month (after about thirty AC), and I have to replace the wheel bearings every other year.

Russ - I have a Woods RM600 just got it used
and I need to replace 2 of the three blades.
They are spinning freely and look like they
need washers. I cannot get the bolt loose even
though I know it is turned right to loosen.
Any ideas.

Yep there are 2 of them here. I don't know the model number right off either. The blades and bearings are easily rounded up.

Tractor supply usually has the blades and Motion Industries or Dixie Bearing has the spindle bearings, most times even NAPA usually has the bearings in stock. The 2 bearings and seal cost $13 for all of them here.

If you'll keep the blade spindles greased and the tension right on the belts I think you will be surprised just how good the Woods mow.
