Clay soils, dry most of the year, rolling hills.
Have a TD6 and use a 5' 2 gang disc. Thanks for your help!

Wonder what you mean by a 2-gang disk? It sounds to me like a pair of gangs side-by-side; but somewhow I think you mean two gangs in front and two gangs in back. We call that a 10-foot tandem here in Iowa. Such a 10 ft. tandem wheel disk was often the standard disk pulled by an M Farmall at around 4-5 mph. Your TD-6 has the same motor as the MD. Your dry clay and the style of the blades may call for twice the horsepower, I don't know. Ask the neighbors. Mike-Iowa

Your probaly looking at at least 35 40 horse to pull a 10' disk. I pull my 10' disk with a 80 hp tractor when I can pull a 20' with it. Easy chore for the tractor.

I am truely not being a smart a$$ here. I know different ground pulls different, and bigger blades can cut deeper. But around here if you got 80 horse on a 20 foot disc you've got both hands together in prayer that you don't run into a low spot thats damp, I spent a lot of time on an 1100 MF, with a 14ft. JD. 110. and that was not to much tractor, around here would be N.E.central

I pull a 10ft tandem disk with a JD 70 Diesel (about 40 some drawbar HP)with a 10ft drag behind the disk at the same time. I've got clay and hills too. I use it for secondary tillage after plowing.
