Can anyone give me any info on a New Idea pull type cycle mower? Model 30A serial M-95814
Would like to know the year it was made, where I can obtain an operators manual and if parts are still avalable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanx JDHUMP

Most of the bearings, teeth, bars, guards and fingers are universal. What does yours need??

There is some Ammish company that bought the designs when New Idea went out and still builds the ground drive New Idea models for a horse drawn sickle mower.

It's under a new name now but I don't remember what it is. You can still buy new parts from them if anybosy knows what name they go by now.

Here goes. The sickle moves all the way to the left, cutting enroute and then moves all the way back to the right again cutting anything in range. And then it just cycles! Dick Davis

No kidding Dick!!!! I know how a sickle mower works. What I am wanting is info on setup as far as from transport position to field position. How to get the thing to swing to the side for cutting and how to lock it in that position. How to raise and lower the cutter bar. Do I pull the lever and the power from the pto works a gear to raise it and lower it, kind of like a trip clutch?? I need operating info that is particular to this make and model of mower... JDHUMP
