What the model number of this IH rake is? Two 16" tires on the back, chain drive via in-and-out gearbox to drive the reel. Serial tag is on it, but there's nothing stamped on the model line.

I bought a rake exactly like this three years ago and still have it. I had the same thoughts on the model as mine is also quite rusty but not quite as bad as yours, I still have just enough paint to be sure it is IH but could never find a decal or plate with the model number. About two weeks ago I mentioned to a guy that I need to replace teeth for this but not sure of the model #. He had a IH new equipment book from early 1960's. The model 15 looked exactly like mine 5 bar, I think the three point model was a #13. Mine works good, drained the water out of the gear box and put a new seal, bearing, and race in last winter, now only need about 100 new teeth, I bought 50 from a country general store for 10 cents on the dollar going out of business last month and they are all the same but the loop where they bolt to the bar is completely opposite of ones on my rake, not sure what to do with them now.

Looks like an early Model 15. The rubber teeth are the universal replacement kind I'm betting. Came out with a coil spring tooth when new if it is a 15.

There are a few coil teeth left on the outside ends of the bars near the drive disks, so you're probably right about that. Thanks, Galen.

I think that IH made a model "35" and this could be one of them. All the IH rakes I've seen had more paint, but it looks like what I remember seeing.

You sure its an IH? It looks exactly like our old Ford rake. Every single part from the jack to the frame to the bars is the same. Don't remember the number of ours, but it is the same as the current NH 278 I believe.

Ford sold an IH forage harvester painted blue at one time. Wouldn't surprise me if Ford also sold blue IH rakes.

Thanks, this is at least a 4 bar, suspect it may even be five. Keep forgetting to count when I'm down there.

It looks like a #15, but I don't remember if that one had chain drive or not.
