I've got a 16" 4-bottom, 3 point JD plow and want to remove the rear bottom to convert it to a 3-bottom. Question: Where does the long brace rod for the upper-link tower attach to the plow? Does it have to be shortened? It looks like it could be bolted to the top of the double channel beam along the top of the frame, if it was shortened and modified (twisted). The tail wheel can be moved ahead and the channel beam can be shortened as required. Would like to have some help with this project.

I don't know if this will help but I converted a Case (made by Pittsburg) to 3 bottem. I took the # 3 plow off and shortened the linkages to 4, then reattached it in the 3 position. That way all the rear assemblies on the back plow stayed in the back. Hope this helps
