After reading the string just below, it motivated me to start thinking about building my next trailer for hay hauling this spring. I have a pair of tortion bar axels with brakes that I salvaged from the Pace car hauler trailer we have at the shop. That trailer got upgraded to 10k# axels, and these are 7500#.
I need to build a tag along frame, about 18 to 24' for hauling hay. This is the excuse I will give my wife, (but it will haul the race car a couple of times, as it does not fit in the enclosed trailer)
Has anyone seen plans for trailers on the web that caught their eye? Fabricating the trailer is no problem, but designing it with the correct axel to tounge measurements and material stress' is best left to a DOT approved engr.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Dave

If you want axle placement information, search the dexter axle site, thay have a downloadable pamphlet, it should be accurate enough for what you want. DOT approved engr., got a real chuckle out of that, thanks! HTH
