I have a Long 3pt. Backhoe attachment and have used it to dig many miles of waterlines 6-7' deep. I feel that this machine is extremely underpowered and light for the job but when it is all you have you use it. I am considering buying a backhoe attachment for my Bobcat 773, but want to be sure they are more powerful than the old 3pt. models. I feel that with the increased hydraulic capacity of the Bobcats over the little pto powered pump on the Long this should be no problem. If any thoughts as to the power and or quality of these attachments please let me know. Also if anybody knows where there are some used backhoe attachments for the bobcat I would like to know.

My brother-in-law had a 743 Bobcat with the hoe attachment. It had plenty of power could easily drag the machine about with the hoe. It seemed to do pretty well for smaller jobs and probably compares well to 3pt hoes but with a little more power. It did totally screw the balance of the machine up when trying to move it around with the hoe attached (Just my observations) and he was always getting stuck.

He ended up getting rid of that configuration for a bigger Bobcat and a mini excavator. Said he didn't like the seat on the hoe attachment and it was a pain to move the machine around. I guess he didn't like climbing up and down from the hoe seat to the regular operators seat.
