I just got the subject - but in addition to hooking up to the 3. hitch, the bottom two arms of the implement not only hookup to the top link and the two 3 pt lift arms, but also extend out beyond the two lift arms as if they are to attach to the rear axle as well. The fellow used to use it on an 8-N, but me on a Fd 3000. He can't find nor describe the brackets that were on the rear axle.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

we had that set up on our 2-n.. the brackets are
under the axle and use the fender bolts to hold them in place. we use these same brackets to connect the anti-sway bars for the mower and grader blade. If i remember i snap a picture of it later today if i make down to the farm.

This sounds like one we used on an Allis Ch. WD. That didn't have 3 pt hitch. We made a couple of brackets that ran down from the rear axle about 6 inches and were fairly rugged. Spaced wide enough so the ends of the digger frame could be pivoted onto them with 3/4" bolts. Then we used short flat iron links between the AC lift arms and the digger frame. Didn't worry about any top link at all. I think you could do the same with an 8N lifting from the lift shaft arms(upper) which might have to be extended a little with a homemade bracket to extend back beyond the rear axle. You'd use flat iron links to connect onto the digger frame. You wouldn't need the bottom (long) lift arms at all and they'd be in the way.We used the WD because the brakes were better (hard on the auger if the tractor moves while digging) and the WD had live PTO power. We made a lot of fence post holes with our rigging.

Huh? What brand of digger, what you say doesn't make sense to me. You can't hook up to the upper, lower, & axle with the same piece of iron - it won't move after that! :)
