If someone asks a question by posting it here and you give it a thoughtful answer with perhaps a bit of research, does it bug you to get NO response from the asker? Just wondering. Bob

I think that you can rest assured that your responses are appreciated whether you hear back or not. I know that I read through almost all of the posts and gain lots of info from posts that I have not written. When you post a response MANY people readit and learn from it. I would like to say a collective thank you to everyone on this board for their experience, advice and help.--Martin

I try to post a "Thank you" after my question has been answered.

Guess it depends on the question, and my response and if it was helpful: Would be great if a questioner would tell us how it came out, and if the answers & advice was helpful. Got a personal e-mail the other day regarding my response on one posting - I was impressed!

It bugs me if I reply to 10 things over a week, and don't get _any_ reply at all - feel like no one cares about little ol' me! :) But I don't need a reply to everything I say, figure that would just clog up the web site with a bunch of 'Ok, thank you' garbage.

What I enjoy is a thread with several updates & more questions, that's cool. :)

But, where someone asked the weight of a bushel of soybeans, no reply is needed to my answer, doesn't bother me that he didn't. :)

Well I thank each of you for your input, as usual it has been pointed out that there are many ways to look at a situation and nobody can agree with all of them. It just seems if someone asks a question, I don't know if the asker ever looked back to read the response(s) if he doesn't make a comment. Bob

It bugs me when responders are critical of the asker or the question. I don't need somebody to tell me I don't know what I'm doing. I wouldn't be asking the question if I did.

I must admit, I'm a bit surprised at the responses. It's not a BIG deal, but it does annoy me just a little. More curiosity than anything else, I think, wanting to know if I helped to solve a problem.

I guess I'm just too easily annoyed. Dang, that means my wife has been right all these years... ":^)

No, not really. Questions asked in this format solicit "voluteered" advice. As mentioned in a previous post, a question asked in e-mail is a bit more direct and personal and deserves a response. All this "cyber-communicating" is new enough that the etiquette is still be sorted out. And....I always try to keep in mind the possibility that my contribution or reply may be regarded by the original questioner as not being WORTH a response!

Bob--It does make you fell good when you do give good advice with a thank you. But I agree with Charlie that there are alot of responses to pick from and would like to hear the results. But to answer your question, no I don't mind because I might have answered a question for ten people. luckydog

It doesn't bother me if they don't respond to a message I post on the board. I assume everyone reads the messages as group info. If I email them and they don't respond, that bothers me.

Doesn't really bother me as I'm sure the asker is reading the responses and assume they are greatfull. I'd feel different if I was helping the guy face to face. However since one usually gets all kinds of ideas on a problem I would like to see a response when people finally solve their problem so we can see what finally was the answer.

Courtesy would dictate at least a thank you.
