Did you check with your dealer, I was able to get a new lid for my fertilizer hopper on my 290 last summer. They just might be able to help you...

Haven't been to the dealer yet.. trying to get in our mushrooms and have a big project at work going. Pretty encouraged by the production numbers of the 290's as to parts availability though. Thanks I'll get to a dealer next week and see what i can find !

I have a large assortment of 16 and 24 cell plates, let me know what number you would need $5.00 a pair, plus shipping.

I have a 290 that is waiting for restoration. Its in pretty good shape to. Deere has a planter plate book for their plates. There is some aftermarket plastic ones also. (deeres are cast iron)

Thanks dennis, Per your advice on an earlier question I began to look at 290's .. I'll use it pretty much the way it is to get my pumpkins in and will get it cleaned up after thats done..I looks like it has been in the mud for awhile and was parked with the fertilizer bins full. I'll need to replace all that from top to bottom...

Let me know if you need some parts beside the buckets. I know where there is a couple 290's that are being parted out. I dont know where to find buckets though.

When I purchased my 290 last year one of the "buckets" needed replacing. The man selling the unit built a bin out of sheet metal using the other one as a templete. Works great. Wish he would build me another one this spring for the other side. I need to look up his phone number.

Try taking the parts that you have into a heating/cooling shop and have them custom build a bin. The diameter at the bottom where the bucket clamps on is really the only critical dimension.
