This spring when the weeds (honeysuckle, thorns and broadleaf weeds get up and growing, we want to spray our pasture and along the fencerow at our road. Don't want to kill our grasses, but would like to get most of the weeds and brush. What have y'all used in the past that you have been satisfied with. We'll be renting a 300 gal. sprayer from the Co-op to tow behind our '41 Farmall M. By the way, we use the pasture for calves.

Can Image be used to kill nutsedge around rose bushes. I have nutsedge in my rose beds and have not found anything to kill this pest.
Thanks for any information.

nice place. me too 2-4-5 d. check label for percentage before purchasing, i get it at tractor supply for 15 per gallon, 35 per 2.5 gallons. i made a 3 pt hitch sprayer with pto pump, plastic 55 gal barrel and use a good garden hose nozzle to spray fence and roadside. we have a golf cart we use on the farm, i purchased one of the 25 gallon 12volt sprayers for about $150. its real handy for spot spraying pasture (my son loves it, big water pistol)

I use Weed-B-Gone, which has the same 2 4 D mix.
It's fairly cheap and very effective. You can buy
it at Home Depot and hardware stores, no special
training to use it. Whatever it does not kill I
spot spray with Round-Up.

Go to an ag coop (or many farm stores) & check out a 2.5 gal jug of generic 24d. You might be surprised at the low cost compared to some name brand lawn treatment.

In my state at least there is not special training needed for 24d, but please do read & follow the label, that is the law & best way to do things.

Yea, 24D is cheap & gets broadleaves. There are other products that last longer/ work better on certain weed types, but they cost a lot more.

There is a 7 day or more waiting period before grazing, read the label. Also the coop you rent the sprayer from probably has some sugessions. :)

Use 2,4-D amine.

I've used it for several years to kill broad leaf weeds in pasture areas. It works good and is relative cheap. May take two applications for really bad areas.

I use 2,4 D also. It will kill the broadleaves but not the grass. If your pasture mix includes clover or alfalfa it will kill them but if you only use it on the fence row it should be minimal, just don't spray the entire pasture. I use it in my yard and it does a number on the clover in it.
