Saw one in a field for sale no price, pretty rusty I think its a 12 foot. any way just curious if anybodys ever heard of one. Shook the sides with the chain driven sprockets and their pretty loose seemed to have all the teeth on the bars what would it be worth or is it worth fixing what might be wrong with it..... ....Thanks

My wife's uncle has two of them. Uses them every year. The latest one he got, he pulled out of a field like the one you're looking at. Got it for free (the owner was a friend). He spent about 500 hours restoring the thing. Had to torch every bolt and redo most of the welds, but he says it works great! For Christmas, I stumbled on to an original David Bradley hay rake manual on ebay for $10 and gave it to him. He was tickled to death!

I've seen several. Sold by Sears. One I saw on rubber was in good working order, all it needed was paint, sold for $100. Another I saw on rubber needed help, had a broken bar, a chain missing, bad tires, sold for $5. Would have made a good parts source. I would say a DB rake is a viable restoration project if it's all there.
