Just bought a Ford 501 sicklebar mower over the weekend. Just one problem, It is in several pieces. The guy said it worked when he got it. He took it apart so he could transport it and just never put it back together. and it has been sitting for almost two years. Does anyone have a picture or two of this unit so I can get an idea of how to put it back together?
In case you are interested, I paid $50.00 and other than light rust it looks in NEW condition with the original ford blue paint. Also, does anyone know the history of this beast? Years made, specs, etc.
Thanks

Here's a pic (I hope). Hmm, well that's not very useful. Click on the link. It will take you to the site where I found the pic. Click the "enter" button then click on "implements". It's on the second page. Click on the photo and it will enlarge. Hope this helps. The listed "clearance" price should make you feel real good about the price you paid.

You got yourself a STEAL!!! those things go for $400 in any condition around here (ND). Got to your Ford/NH dealer and get an operators manuel. Or you get get it at there internet site. costs about $7 - $10. The 501 Ford is probably the best cutting mower i have ever had the pleasure to use. Beats the heck out of any of the pre-mod. 37 JD's i have used. actually, its a piece of scrap, i think you should give it to me to get it off your hands. I could even give you scrap price for it!
just kiddin'

great mower
