Just bought one out of a barn half buried in straw for the last 30 years. It comes with all the belts, extra screens, manuals, windrow pick up, and the tires appear to still hold air. The paint is intact and all the decals are legible. So do you think $50 was too much? Any tips on transporting the beast? GFETE (Grinning from Ear to Ear) D-2

Haven't seen my canvas yet (it's rolled up overhead on the machine shed) so I might be in tth market for some also. I did see a posting recently for a set of "new" but the seller wasn't specific whether it was for a 60 or 72All Crop. Doesn't Spencer canvas offer replacement service? good luck D-2

There are threads in the archives on these old girls, some quite flattering. My bud was an A-C dealer from the 30's to the 50's; He says they were the very best, especially for clover. I had that d___ ball hitch on an A-C rake, What a pain in the A__! My bud said "they wern't too popular" If you see an A-C PTO powered, pull type, rake/tedder run far and fast. To the New Holland Dealer.

Sounds like a great deal to me. Depending on the area the old pull types can go up to $300 if they are in good shape. As far as pulling them down the road they pull ok but there's not much you can do to prevent hoging the road. Did you get the ball hitch AC used for their combines?

Yes he has the ball hitch, I didn't remember anything about there being a special way to hook it up. I think the old guy was tickled to sell the old machine to someone who will take care of it.
