I have a 6 & 1/2 foot disk harrow (outside of disk)that is to small, barely covers my rear tire tracks. I end up driving "all day" just to disk and cross disk fields ~5 acres.

Anyone recommend or know of something 10-12'? Will be pulling behind Oliver 550 Dsl, sandy loam with clay bed.

Been looking & all I see is the large fold up ones or these little ones. Trying to be more efficient here on this U-PICK venture.
Thanks

Does your 550 have a remote ? I picked up a JD KBA 10' wheel disk for $300 at an auction that I'm pretty happy with. I pull it with my Oliver 1600. It's not too wide to be clumsy, but heavy enough to dig in pretty well, unlike the 6' TSC 3PT disk I made the mistake of buying before ...

I have a remote coming and the hydraulic block also. I really like your idea, hadn't thought of that one before. I think I will look into it.
Thanks again.

Something you might want to consider is getting one of the fold-up ones, and taking its "wings" off. This would leave you with about 10 feet or so, which would be pretty good for your tractor in most ground.

Did this myself with an old 30-foot cultivator, and know another guy who bought a fold-up disk with the same idea. A side benefit is that you end up with lots of spare parts, which can be expensive on older equipment if you have to buy them.
