I just purchased an IH 100 or 200 spreader? How
do I identify it? Need a manual and some miscelaneous parts including main conveyor chain
links.
Any information would be appreciated.

Hi Bob,
Measure across the inside of the bed. If it is 33 7/8 in, it is a model 100 a 40 bu. capacity spreader. If it is 36 in. across, it is model 200 which is a 65 bu. capacity spreader. The model 100 is overall a smaller spreader both in length and width. The easiest way of determining is the width. Good luck. I have both manuals and if you need help, contact me.
good luck, Tom-Pa

Hi Tom,
The bed measures 41" wide by approximately 9' long. The width is outside measurement, might
save 1/8" on the inside. The IH book "150 years
of International Harvester" shows a model 200 that
looks identical. I need the Shield that goes on
the right rear side of the spreader, if you were standing at the rear looking forward. Also need a conveyor chain. The spreader is not rusted out just needs these pieces and a new floor. Were they a very good spreader? I can't find a ID tag anywhere on the machine.

Bob, I think you have the model 200. I goofed on the inner size, the width should be about 38 1/2 in.to 39 in across the bed interior. If it is then you have the model 200. You can get the spreader conveyor assys as they are available. Quality Farm and Country lists it for approx. $340 smackers and it has 15 cross bars/slats. The spreaders use the 'S' chain links which can be a bother to get hold of..most places only sell up to size 67 and the 'S' is larger. I can get you the SKU number if you need it.

My father bought a Model 200 TW new in about 1955. The TW stood for treated wood sides, and the 200 had steel sides, I may still have original manual, I'll see if I can find it.
