Anyone know of a trick to level the field after plowing and disking? Have heavy corn stalks from last year, using a hare only brings it back up. Want to plant soy beans.

Thanks for any help.

Frankly, a slow soaking rain is your best bet. Much like we are getting outside the window right now....

Not that we have even thought about soybeans here. Still waiting for the ground to dry out enough to put in corn. I guess I finished with oats/alfalfa yesterday, planted a few acres, had to go around wet spots. Too late to try any more after the forcast 3 days of rain coming...

I had to use a rotory plow behind a box scraper with the teeth lowered, and the blade held at about 3" up to break up the bricks I plowed up. Worked quite well. Ran at 45 degrees to the plow line. This was a sm. 1 acre pasture. Spike harrowed last.

Pan Plow and disk will do the trick.

A disk (aka disk harrow) should do the job. The bigger and heavier, the better. Those little 5 or 6 foot 3-point hitch jobs are pretty much worthless in my experience. A hydraulic-lift wheel disk would be just the ticket.

How about a roller harrow (aka cultimulcher, packer harrow)? You can engage the teeth for light penetration, which shouldn't pull too much trash up, and the rollers will leave a firm, smooth surface to put beans into.
