I am in the process of gathering materials to build a fork and grapple bucket for my Bobcat.. Does anyone have any idea what would make good tines for the fork part of the bucket?? I have been told torsion bars from old cars but to find any of them is like finding gold in a coal mine.. they were hot items in demo derby's and most have been crushed and shipped away.. So I need to find somthing else. Any Ideas would be heplfull... Thank You now so I don't forget too!

The BEST tines are old discarded truck leaf springs. Spring shops junk these by the ton. Plasma-arc the bolt holes in the leaves. These are hard to beat.

Replaced the tines on our manure bucket with disk (disk harrow to some of you) shafts. Found one that wasn't hardened, but the rest don't bend.

Rear axle shafts from half ton pick-up trucks or older cars work well.
