I just recently purchased a 47 9N with a few implaments. Brush hog, box blade, and post hole auger. Unfortunatly I am unclear as to how to properly attach the post hole auger. when I hook up the 3-point, the drive chaft does not reach and the auger will not set straight. I need help. Does anyone have a pic of a post hole auger attached as an example.

Is the drive shaft telescoping correctly? I picked one up for free that had sat for years, and the driveshaft was "bound". After a lot of fooling around, I got it loose, slipped it apart, and put grease all over the shaft. It's been working great ever since.

Take Care
Steve

Telescoping??? well well... I think when I brouble it home it has a fixed length shaft...
I will double check it this weekend... either it is fixed length, or it is stuck like a big dog.

I wonder what you are attaching the front ends of the digger arms to. On our 8N there were a couple of pieces of fairly stout angle iron that bolted on under the axle using the bottom ends of the bolts that hold the rear fender on. The ends of the digger arms pivoted on big bolts that went thru the side of the angle iron that hung down. Would this set-up bring the digger closer to your tractor so the PTO driveshaft would be long enough? It worked for us.

If it is a 47, with a 3 speed, you have a 2N, not a 9N. 9N's stopped in 42 when the 2Ns started.
You will have to replace the drive shaft as it is for some other tractor.
If you go over to the (<@<*N board, someone will post a picture for you. They will help with whatever problem you may have.
LOL
