Hello, yeah it's me again, i have been trying to get the sickle bar mower on our super C and have been unsucessful so far. the only bracket that looks like it goes with teh sickle bar mower is not working. ok..... on teh sickle bar mower (this is if u are standing from teh back looking forewards) there is 2 verticle arms that come up about 2 feet from teh PTO. they, when matched to teh tractor, go up to the axles. the brackets that go up to teh axles, are curved forewards at the top, on teh curve, it is i guess the best way to describe it is split in teh middle going up and down, the width of a bolt hole, it goes down about 3 inches or so. then down near the bottom of this bracket(the whole bracket is straight, the top 2 inches or so is the only part that is bent, not the bottom) there is a hole for a bolt, but the hole widens at teh bottom, almost like what you would use for a chain, you can slip it to teh bigger hole to let teh chain out then slip it in the smaller "slot" to keep it from moving. this bracket which is attached to the sickle bar mower can only go vertically on teh back side of teh axle. also, there is an arm on teh left side for the 2nd bracket (bear with me) to lift up teh bar with. ok, now the other bracket i got. this i have fit on teh tractor, the only way it goes on is it has a bracket that bolts on to teh 2 bolts under teh seat above the PTO housing. it has 2 arms that come down behind the axle in the exact same place that the sickle bar bracket goes. then it has a bar that goes up to the hydrolics comes back to this big bracket crosses over then teh arm that moves the bar up and down. now here is my problem, the only way this big bracket fits on is with the long arm that goes up to the hydrolics on teh left and teh arm that goes back to the sickle bar mower on teh right, now the hookup for the bar lift on teh sickle-bar mower is on teh left...they dont match... also, like i said before, the arms that the sickle-bar mower attaches to are on teh same side of teh sxle, when i am pretty sure they are supposted to wrap around teh axle, they dont match up and bolt together because they are both L shaped and when they are put together the holes are 1/2 to 3/4 inch off. if you have any question please ask, and seriously if u are still awake and not confused out of your mind i salute you. thanks a bunch. Dane.
If I follow your post correctly, this is how I see it. The mower does bolt to the two brackets that bolt around your axles. I hope you have these or else you cannot mount the mower. The bracket on the left side (as viewed from the rear) should be on the inside of the two possible positions and the right one goes on in the outside position. You will see the notches on the axles and see where they go. Just back up to the mower and when the top bolt on the right side axle bracket lines up with the top of the mower part just flip the bolt back into the U shaped slot. The curved part goes over the axle bracket. The lower hole is for the bolt on the bottom of the axle bracket. The hole is shaped like it is to allow the nut on the bolt to swing up and go through the hole. Tighten them up. There should be a long bar hooked to a vertical shaft near the large pulley at the back left of the mower (if you have a short bar here, then your mower may have come from a larger Farmall with a different hydraulic system). Hook it to the lift arm on the left side of the tractor near the gas tank and use it to pull the left side of the mower up to where you can hook the bolts on the left side to the axle bracket. Before you tighten these, you might want to hook the PTO up. Mine won't go on if I don't. The other part that you describe that bolts underneath the seat above the PTO is the rock shaft for lifting the plows and is not needed for the mower. Hope this helps.

Hello, i had a friend come over who used to own one of these, and the previous owner took off the drawbar and put on a a belly mower, so all this equipment looked confusing until i saw another tractor with teh drawbar still on and it all made sense, well i thank you all for all your help, all i need to do is get the pieces of teh drawbar that wrap around the axles, thanks a bunch.
