I have a 5 foot pull behind Bush Hog brush hog mower and would like to know if I can convert it to a 3pt hitch? It is about ten years old.

I had the same idea you had a year or so back for my 6' Howse pull behind brush hog. I decided not to do it.
You could do it, but by the time you buy all the steel for the top link and bracing, and changing the trailer tires to a single rear tire, because the first time you make a turn the trailer type wheels will peel off or make big ruts, you could just about buy a new brush-hog.

Thank you for your input. It looks as though I am going to look for a used bush hog with a 3pt hitch.

Good idea, I've been watching the auctions for a good 3-point flail mower, my dad used to have one when I was a kid, and it did as good of a job as the finish mowers do today.

Good Luck..... Milan

Why, Around here with all of the Super A's and JD M's those pull behinds sell for as much if not more than the 3 pt ones. There is an abundance of 3pt ones for sell and very few of the pull behind. I would recommend that you at least try to sell this one before you hack it up and try to convert it and buy one made for what you want.

I agree with Jerry, I had a 20 year old pull behind in good condition and sold it for a nice price, the pull behinds are getting hard to find and are sought after with the antique tractor crowd. Johnny

Not only that but I like the trailer type better for pastures and grounds work.
