Can anyone tell me where I can find sweeps for an old Ferguson cultivator? It consists of a 6 foot square piece of iron approx 2 inch square with six bottoms (wrong teminology, I know) bolted to it. The bottoms consist of 1 inch square steel formed into a couple of loops before curving down to the ground. It had an assortment of different sizes and shapes of sweeps bolted on with a single bolt each because none of the holes lined up. The holes appear to be 1 3/8 inch on center and the sweeps I’ve been able to find so far are 1 5/8 to 1 ¾ inch on center or 2 inch on center. There is a metal tag on the side that says Ferguson Type: L – KO – B – 20 No: 442 Harry Ferguson Inc. Detroit, MI.
Any suggestions much appreciated!!!!

It's been a while since I changed any of these. But if memory serves correctly, I think some of these have one square hole and one elongated hole so they can be used with different hole spacings. Look around, I think you will find some.

Sounds like you have 'S' tines on your tool bar.

I'd go find the one guy who knows anything at the local farm supply store, & have him dig out the catalog from their tillage supplier & see what you can order for shovels (or sweeps). You might have to wait until next year when they do their spring tillage order, etc., but most everything should be shown in that catalog. There are all kinds available, from chisel points (only as wide as the 'S' shank, about 2") to 15" or so. Bet you're looking for 5 or 7" sweeps?
