I have an old three-point cement mixer I have used for years and have never been able to figure out who the manufacture was. It's capacity is about one bag of portland cement to the proper ratio of gravel and water. The drum was yellow and the mechanical dump frame was red.It was missing the drive when I bought it so I built a frame and jackshaft with a small rubber tire to drive it off the tractor pto, when the three-point is down the drum rests on the rubber tire which turns the mixer. The dump frame is made so as to tip the drum up and dump it when you raise the three-point.I belive it was made to mount on a Ford tractor as the hookup is a Cat. 1. can anyone give me an idea who made these mixers? Thanks,Al

I'd like to build a cement mixer similar to the one you are describing. Do you have any pictures of it?

Thanks,

Is there a car tire mounted on the back of the drum? I have one with a 15" rim welded to the drum. The tractor pto turns a spindle that contacts the tire on the drum to make the drum revolve. The tag says "TRANSMIX" by a company called "Universal Pulley" with a Wichita, KS address. My mixer came off a '45 Ford 2N and I have is on a '55 Ford 850. My wife's uncle has one that more closely matches your description. The drum is identical to mine but the frame is more like what you describe. The tag on that one says "TRANSMIX" but the company name is different. I can't remember exactly the name of the company on that one, but I remember it was still located in Wichita KS. Mine is so covered with old cement that it's hard to tell what color it was. The one owned by my wife's uncle is kind of a tomato red. When I got mine I asked on this board for info and someone from PA responded that he had bought his from a dealer in Eaton PA back in the early sixties. I talked to that dealer on the phone and no one there had ever heard of the company....even the ones who had worked there since the mid-seventies. They did find a parts book or something in their dusty, musty files. I tried the internet and Kansas directory assistance but could never locate the company. Gone out of business I assume.
