I just seen on the weekend a collection of assorted grain grinders. This gent takes them apart, cleans, sands rebuilds and paints them.I never thought of this before but they make a nice collectable and still within reach. He gets them at auctions for a few bucks or more but definitly affordable.

I have a Stover Burr Mill and a John Deere LUC power unit. I take them to shows and have lots of fun. I also have a Letz Burr mill i use it at home to grind Corn and Barley for my steers

Don: Thanks. not everything has to be gas\diesel powered. I was once in an old restored building that had grain grinding equipment that was power by an outside "water-wheel". Only nice and quiet sounds of grinding inside. Ralph

I have several old burr mills which I use at home and also show occasionally. They are ususally a big hit. People like to see the old stuff actually working. Another thing which draws people in is to have a hand cranked corn sheller set up where kids can crank it to shell corn. Just watch 'em close and have LOTS of ear corn. Kids of all ages are fascinated that the ear goes in and shelled corn comes out.
