I'm bringing in several loads of fill dirt for gradeing around the house & filling in some low spots on my property.
would I be better off with a box blade or with regular scraper(?) type? besides the fact that a regular blade can pivot, what would be the advantage/disadvantage of each?

Thanks,
Jim

Box blades are best for dragging a small load of dirt from one place to another. When you get it where you want it you
can spread it. After you sort of have the area roughly filled in, you turn the tractor around and push with the back
part of the box to level. An angle blade is used to grade areas that already are filled or close to on grade. It works
best moving dirt left to right and or right to left. There is a landscapers blade made by the Brillion company that has
the advantages of both types plus a rake. You might get off cheaper by hiring someone who does finish grade tractor work.
Good luck.
