Not sure what happened. Plunger head broke loose, and is wedged firmly in bale chamber. Feeder forks destroyed. Pitman arm destroyed. Splines damaged on main crank drive. Still have a couple thousand bales to do. Looking around for a baler. I see a CaseIH 8530 (same as a Hesston) inline with thrower for $5000. Looks like a fairly simple setup compared to other balers. Doesn't look worn out. All other available JDs in the area are either very new (too expensive) or very beat (too cheap). Same goes for the New Hollands.

BTW, anybody need a 336 for parts? The rest of the baler and the thower are fine. There's also a parts thrower laying around here in the weeds somewhere.

Bummer Tim, My buddy has a Case IH version of that Hesston and it is slick. Tight and square. Has put a Knotter brake pad and a small spring on it in five years. I have a 66 I'll sell'ya
