I have a Green Crop model R hayloader that is hooked on behind a wagon and you pull the wagon stradling a winrow of hay and it picks the hay up and loades it over the back of the wagon. It sits up at about a 45 degree angle. It is ground driven and turns a 9 journal crank shaft that runs the slats that push the hay up the incline to the wagon. I have never seen it work but that is the way it looks like it would work. It was setting over in a field on this farm I bought.

My dad bought a used "hay thrower thing" in the early sixties. We used it for several years. The goofy thing really did work. They got outdated when throwers were invented for bailers. It would certainly be worth fooling around with and getting it to work again, just to see the action. I doubt if it has much collector value, but I would fix it up if it were mine!

Whoops, lost the message. A friend has an old hayloader that is pulled with the tractor. It is run along the ground. A bale is put into chute, grabbed by two claws and flung up to the guy on the trailer via a cable. This thing is pretty big. It is all ground driven. Is it worth anything? Have you guys heard of one of these things? Should it belong in a museum. Is it rare. It is missing two tires. That' is all I think is wrong with it. Mark
