I have an IH 1190 haybine bought new in about 1977 or 1978 and have been told it was probably one of the first ones built. I routinely mow about 80 -100 acres every year, 3 crops. I have had very little trouble with this machine over the last 25 years. I always felt the main difference between the 1190 and 990 was the fact that the header on the 1190 was hung from a main frame above the rolls. This design was also then used on some New Idea haybines and N.I. dscbines today still use this same design. I wish I could find another 1190 in good condition. Don"t be afraid of it!
