I am looking to buy a 6 foot 3PTH 2 stage snowblower, I would like some advise as to what brand to buy, what to stay away from and why, I will be powering the blower with a 5400 4x4 Kubota tractor,it is 55 PTO HP. I took a job transfer that moved me from central Florida to northern Maine, I didn't know what a pain in the behind snow could be until last winter. I had someone plow the drive last winter, 2 hours after he left the snow was as high as the banks where it drifted back, this went on after every storm especially when it was real windy. Thanks for the help! GW Sr.

I have no particular brand suggestion. 6 foot might be a bit much for 55 hp. If you have hydrostatic drive, not too bad. When you are looking at blowers, imagine what kind of strength it would need to run firewood and those big rocks on Maine property lines through it. Because that is what you will do, no matter how careful you are. I would suggest a slip clutch drive, because trying to line up a shear pin with thick gloves in a snowstorm just sucks. Do you have a cab?
