The aluminium name plate is broken in half so the manufacturer's name and model number are gone. There is a legible serial number in the realm of 589,xxx.

The mower is 5' (+/-) in width with stump jumper, two independently attached cutting blades, top-center mounted universal joint, and telescoping PTO shaft. The three point hitch and trailing wheel supports are made, in general, from flat stock and angle steel members. When looking at the implement from rear to front, there are about ten 4-link steel chains welded to the discharge which is on the left rear of the mower.

Does you have a similar implement with a corresponding serial number or description that can help me identify mine?

richard the reason he asked that was because if its pink its a ford if its red it is a bushhog brand bushhog green its a jd red internationl etc. the description is typical of a 3pt mounted mower. if they didnt have teliscopeing pto you couldnt raise it. any way to answer your question we have a bushhog brand like the one you described except the cahin guards. we also have a ford 5' hog to but it didnt last long behind a 140 hp tractor in the woods....the flat iron is what almost every bushhogs 3pt and tail wheel is made of. we also have a 7' bushhog brand but it is pull type. if you would email me a pic of it so i can positvly identifie it for ya. if its the color of rust sounds like someone doesnt know how to take care of it. we wash all of ours before the seasons over and we havent ahd the deck rust away and such. yours and ours are around the late 50's early 60's, and ours still look like new, but it all has to do with how you take care of 'em....
