3 point quick hitch opinions wanted

I've been looking at the pictures of the 3 point quick hitch units in various catelogs. In theory they look like they would be time savers if hooking and unhooking 3 point equipment a lot. However, has anyone used one and if so, what are they like in real life - how do you deal with the various widths pin to pin from manufacturer to manufacturer?

Thanks in advance for the help,
Bob

Hey, Bob, how 'bout tommy sells his that is leaning against the shed to Don who loves them so much. You seemed to get badly conflicting reports and two folks just told you to look at them some more, good advice huh? Good luck in your endeavor. P.S. if Don won't buy it, maybe you can borrow it to try it out.

Bob -
I have been looking at these for some time now. I just discovered Delta hitch last week and also provided a link. Another site is Jiffy Hitch Systems located here in Jax, FL. Link below.

Since I am the only one hooking and unhooking as you know it is sometimes a real pain in the arse. I really like the idea and am strongly considering building something.

Costs that I have seen so far is between $300-600 per attachment which is to spendy for me now. Hydraulic toplink is very spendy IMHO but would think beneficial. I would consider only puting on most used equipment i.e. bush hog, disk, and possibly the plow.

I have spoke with owners of the Jiffy Hitch and they swear by it, I seen it action at a fair last fall and sure seemed slick. However, at this I have more pressing equipment needs (seeking 8-12 disk harrow). Best of luck with your efforts, maybe next yr the budget will permit one.

I have used them for the last 12-14 years and the y are a Godsend as far as I'm concerned. I have a category 2 and a couple of category 1's that I bought at TSC. Over the years I have had to modify an implement or two (put longer pins on, etc, nothing major.) but I would trade the implement before I would get rid of the quick hitch. Once everything is set up they are a real time saver.

You might want to look at the Delta hook...it is another option for options hitch attachments.
