Does anyone know anything about a JD 507 cutter?

There are two of them at an upcoming consignment auction. One is pull type, the other is three point. They are about 7 foot, and resemble a large finishing mower, rather than a more typical brush cutter.

What I am curious about is whether or not they are suitable for triming pastures and light brush, or are they what they look like---large, tractor mounted lawnmowers? Also, about how old are they?

I have a trailer type 507. It will provide a nice cut in a pasture, and it will mow light brush, but there is a chain drive that can be a maintenance problem.
