This plow (2 large disks)came with my used 8n years ago. Does anyone know the age? How is it used? Are the disks supposed to turn freely? Thanks.

You have what is caled a disk plow, very rare, The disks, Blades, are suposed to turn free with about the amount of friction to turn the front wheel on the tractor, adjust bearings the same way.
All Dearborne machinery would be made between the time Ferguson-Ford split for 1948 to the time Ford brought out the 600,700,800,900 in 1955 and changed the name to Ford on all machinery.

THE DISKS ON YOUR PLOW ARE CALLED COULTERS AND YES THEY NEED TO TURN FREELY TO WORK CORRECTLY. THEY HELP TO CUT FIELD STUBBLE. CHECK OUT THE ARCHIVES UNDER (DEARBORN PLOW) THERE IS A LOT OF GOOD INFO. HAVE FUN
