I dont know if this is the right place to ask, but my father just bought a 1905 Brantford front cut #3 horse drawn lawn mower, hay mower, what ever... And he would like to fix it up but he doesnt know what it should look like (paint job etc.) If any of you know, or know where I could find some help, my dad would sure appreaciate it...
thank you,
Meg

A front cut mower?!?! I take it you mean the sickle bar was in front of the mower and not off-set like all the others. (What I wouldn't give to add a front draft mower to my collection-----) Sorry, just dreaming. :-)

I knew that Eureka of Utica, New York and Dain of Ottumwa, Iowa had the front draft design so I decided to do some hunting on a Brantford mower and I think I found something for you.

May I suggest you check out>Link

Hope this helps.

I once looked over an encyclopedia of anteque farm implement makers. What I remember, that volume didn't bother to list or state manufactured color. But the most common shade was red out of the hundreds of companies in the business at the turn of the century.
